LEADERS FACE BIG FEELINGS
With all that is going on in the world this season, it's important to acknowledge our own feelings and those of others. At the same time this can be incredibly challenging and overwhelming for many of us. It wasn't until I became a parent that I really started to learn, practice, and become more at ease with my own "big feelings" and those of others.
Here are two resources to support you in this.
A great article by HBR (if you can't access it, shoot me a message and I'll share it with you directly) on how to "be" with the feelings from others - frustration, anger and resentment.
The ability to acknowledge and support others in their emotions in a healthy way starts with having a healthy relationship. Check out this super short video post on LinkedIn that my dear friend and fellow coach Conrad Hayter and I created to break down what it means to design intentional relationships.
THE PRACTICE
Here's an inquiry for you to consider this week:
How do you feel about "big feelings"?
What is your natural reaction to "big feelings"?
How will increasing your comfort with "big feelings" help you grow your leadership?
