LEADERS HAVE SELF-AWARENESS
Self-awareness is a skill for leaders. Building the muscle of self-awareness is an ongoing practice.
Here are three resources and some homework to help you develop this skill.
Brené Brown has a great self-assessment tool to help build awareness around your strengths and growth areas.
This week's "What's in Your Leadership Backpack?" includes a micro-training on build self-awareness. Check it out here.
And this short article from ForbesWomen lays out the reasons self-awareness is a foundation for good leadership.
THE PRACTICE
For homework, find some time over the next two weeks to interview 3-5 individuals to request "trusted feedback" (a mix of professional and personal is ideal) and ask the following questions:
What do you most appreciate about me?
What do you wish I would appreciate more about myself?
What do you find challenging about me?
What is the one thing you believe I could master in this lifetime?
