Weekend Boost No. 62
MULTI-TASKING AND SUSTAINING YOUR ENERGY
I'm revising this topic as a reminder (mostly to myself) that when I choose to single-task, I find much more fulfillment in my day. These articles offer some steady and new perspectives.
This blog article shares insight and tips for creating a more focused approach to your work and how to make single-tasking rewarding.
More in-depth information on the connection between your brain can be found here. What I appreciate most about this article is that it is research-based, offering insights into the real impact of multi-tasking.
THE PRACTICE
Self-reflect, where in your day do you find yourself multi-tasking the most and what happens to your energy during this time? Do you feel more or less drained?
Identify a time of day when you want to be more focused (could be personal, like before bed or professional - first hour of your working day) and isolate yourself from distractions. Notice your energy 20 minutes into the tasks.
