ENROLLING OTHERS IN OUR IDEAS IS AN ACT OF LEADERSHIP

Have you ever had an idea (personal or professional) that you haven't found a way to communicate and share with others? These helpful resources may help you find a way forward you haven't yet considered.

  • This podcast episode with Adam Grant demystifies what it takes to enroll others in your best ideas.

  • And the tips shared in this blog from Stanford Business School provide a great way to get a conversation about your idea started with others.

THE PRACTICE

Have an idea that you want to share with others?
Take a minute to write out the following:

  • What is the problem this idea will solve?

  • Who will this idea serve?

  • What is the expected impact of this idea?

Make a list of your stakeholders - the individuals or groups of people who you need to enroll, enlist, get support from to take this idea forward.
Decide on a tool (tip or approach) from the resources shared to support you in your next step. Make a plan and set a deadline.
